Support the Batwa

For generations, the Batwa of Uganda lived in harmony with their forest, but displacement has left many struggling to secure land, food, health care, and a future for their children. Yet, their resilience and determination to protect their culture and assert their rights remain strong.

The Ihamba Project is raising funds to support two Batwa-led organizations in the Kanungu District of Uganda.


100% of your donation will go directly to community-driven initiatives led by Batwa themselves, supporting:​

  • Cultural education

  • Food security

  • Efforts to regain access to their ancestral forest

Instead, it is overseen by members of our research and film team who are in regular communication with the Batwa Advisory Committee.
